Where is My Happiness?

Ever felt like you were empty? Ever felt like you were alone, and abandoned? We have all came to a point in life where you just want peace and happiness! Yet it seems like it's so far away! We have to sometimes look at what we are doing, who do we surround ourselves with, what are our priorities and FIX IT! Happiness starts with self, and that is why we have to ask those questions! We can choose what we do, choose our surroundings, and choose what are the most important priorities.
I have learned that we sometimes forget that we make those choices in life, and we have control in most situations. I say "most" because sometimes it isn't in our hands. However, the things that we can control, we have to make the best decisions. How many times have you felt like you are pulled in so many directions? Just recently, I felt like I was pulled in 5 different directions. Kids, school, work, home, family, car, and it was just too much at one time. I had to ask myself, what comes first, and how can I prioritize what needs to be done first. Obviously I love my children dearly and they are always going to come first. I also know that even though they are the highlight of my life, I have to sometimes tell them no. Yes, telling them yes to what they want can get them to be happy and out of my hairs for a second, it isn't always best to give them what they want just because they asked for it.
My children are a part of my happiness, but I lack happiness in other areas in my life. I want to take off in my desired career, and it seems like that is so far away!!! I need another vehicle, but that has to be put on hold!!! Uggghhh, where is my happiness?

The life of a young mother, and Im not getting any younger. 28 years young, an life continues to keep going no matter what. Where is my happiness, and will I ever find it?? Im hoping sooner than later!!!!

Will I Ever Get a Chance????

I recently finished getting my Associates Degree in Health Care Administration/Medical records and I decided to continue to get my education. Now I am currently on my way to obtaining my Bachelors in Health Care Administration/Health Care Management. It is beyond frustrating because I have been searching and searching for employment with no luck at all. I have done my resume over and over again, and still no luck. Not a email, phone call, text message, mail, not nothing!!! The thing is, I have NO experience in healthcare. However, how will I get any experience if no one wants to give me a chance?
I send off my resume daily, I have made so many profiles with these companies and I still have not heard NOTHING!!!! I am a mother of three, and they are my main reason why I wanted to change, and why I chose to go back to school. Christmas is around the corner, birthdays are back to back and I am just lost of what to do. I am just a frustrated parent with no answers for my children or myself.
I live in a city where people say that there are so many opportunities, but I seem to somehow look past them(sarcastically). I dont know what I am doing wrong, or what Im not doing enough of.
Not too long ago, I began to ask myself, is education truly the key? I only asked that, because of the dead end I was creeping up on.
I am strong, smart, and driven just to name a few, but I am starting to give up hope. My grades are good, and Im always looking for ways to better this thing I have called LIFE.
I made this blog not too long ago because I wanted to vent and reach out to others about life, about life that most can relate to. Today, I am writing to do just that, vent and talk about what most are going through. This made me feel a bit better, but I am still lost for answers.
One day, and one day soon, I pray that I get on here and write about how much I love my new job and my life is changing for the better  for me and my children. Im praying it comes sooner than later.

It's Okay to Say F-It Sometimes..........

It's Okay to NOT Care Anymore

You wake up, get breakfast started, make sure the kids are fed and out the door. Then you have to get yourself together before you head out the door. The day is long and drawn out, and you just want to go home and rest. You finally get home from work and you have about an hour of peace and quiet. The phone is ringing, dishes need to be done, floor needs sweeping and there are a ton of errands that need to be done. Well, sometimes you have to say F-it!!!! Relax and give yourself some ME time. All of those things that need to be done, will be done another time. That friend that keeps calling about her simple problems, don't answer the phone, say.....F-it!!! That friend will eventually get over it, she doesn't take your advice anyway.
What I'm trying to say is, its okay to kick your shoes off and NOT give a hoot for a while. With all of the things we have going on around us, we need those breaks. I say F-it more than a little, and trust me, it feels great!!!! I see that a lot of people try to keep up an image that they are on top of everything, and they make no mistakes. Well, no one is perfect and who are we to judge?? If you feel like taking a break and could care less about an image that wont matter when you hit the dirt, say F-it!!!!! I know that they language can be a little more than necessary, but it just sounds better and there is no harm behind it. This blog is short, just like many of my other blogs, however I hope this helps someone who really NEEDS a break from time to time.

Why I Write About Teen Pregnancy....

I write to feel better, I write to make others feel better and open their minds to things people know nothing about. I know this can be a subject that everyone may have different feelings about, but Im just speaking from my own experiences. When people think about teen pregnancy, they often think of the negative. Well, the whole situation isn't negative. The only negative part of it, is the sex. I like to tell people to ask themselves, "Why do you think the teens engaged into sex" Was it temptation, was it puppy love, were they missing something in their own personal lives and found it in sex? Everyone has their own stories, and I decided to talk about mine just a little. People are so quick to judge an assume that if a teen is pregnant, she is out of control!!! That may not be the case. We have all done foolish things so no one should judge one another. This blog is only to encourage young people to make better choices, its 100% real, and to assure that they can make it through. Im far from perfect, I just simply want to be heard and give positive advice!!

A Dream......From a REAL Person's Perspective

Each and everyday I strive for the best, trying to maintain a good life for me and mine. I pay bills, go to school, take care of my kids, and take care of home. At the end of the day, where am I, who am I? Those are all of the questions I ask myself after all of the tough things are done. I can never come up with nothing, everything that I say sounds stupid!! "Your strong, your great, your loving and supportive" those all sound great, but are those descriptions who I really am? NO, they are not!! I live pay check to pay check, I hardly get to get myself anything, Im late on a few bills, and Im not doing well in class!! That's the real me, the imperfect person, and I love that about me!!! I dont want to live a DREAM of perfection.....I want to be ME!!! Those bills are late, those checks are short, not doing well in class, and I hardly buy myself anything....it's okay!! Things will get better, and Im LOVING me through it all!!!

Temptation Can Bite You in the_______(short blog)

Have you ever wanted  something soooo bad and you would do anything to get it??? Even though you know it's no good for you? You try so hard to forget it, ignore it, and dislike it but all of that doesn't work? You end up falling for it chasing it, and everything goes all bad!! Well everyone has been in that situation and you know what I have learned? Never make the same mistake twice. When there is something you want and you know its bad for you, drop everything and RUUUNNN!!!! It's almost like trying to figure out what is the difference between a want and a need. We as human beings tend to go after what we really dont need. Whether it's a person, or something materialistic, we have to ask ourselves, "Is it worth it?"
For a long time I would lust after my kids father, and I kept getting hurt in the end. I made a huge mistake thinking that my lust for him was actually love and it wasn't. Point is, if what you "want" so very badly hurts you over and over again, you dont need it. Take it back, let it go, throw it away and trust me things will get better from that point on. Don't be fooled!!! Think with your brain sometimes and NOT your HEART!!!

Letting yourself down is NOT an option!!! Don't force relationships!!

I must say that becoming a parent made me grow up quicker than I wanted to. I am now 27, and I sometimes feel like I'm 47. I no longer put up with foolishness, I pay more attention to my surroundings, and my time means so much more to me than ever before. Sure there are plenty of other things that has changed about me, but those are just to name a few. Now, moving on to why I gave this blog the title, "Letting yourself down is NOT an option". I said that for many many reasons, and its very important because it's no longer just about you, it's you and your little bundle of joy, so it's twice the responsibility.
I have seen people have children, and have bad relationships with the mother or the father. What is even worse, they try and try to make things work for the sake of the child(ren). Let me be the one to tell you that, forcing a relationship because of the child(ren) is not a great idea. Don't get me wrong, sometimes things can work themselves out, however during all of the disagreements, fussing and fighting that child is taking all of it in. Another point Im trying to make is that when you continuously give a person chance after chance, you can no longer be mad at them be mad at yourself for allowing them to fail you over and over again. Don't let yourself or your children down just because you want to make something that is not picture perfect, perfect. Makes sense?
Letting yourself down while being a young parent shows, and your child can sense when something isn't right. I have seen this first-hand. My children know when Im sad, irritated, or upset. Don't think just because your child can't talk, or is just too young know any better; that they dont sense when things aren't right. If you and the father or mother of your child aren't on the same page, then find a way to get to that place. If you know deep down that you are not ready to be with that person, be honest with them and most important; be honest with yourself. Trust me, forcing relationships can be a waste, and you have to ask yourself.......Is this really even real?
Overall, I know I rambled on a little, and most of the time I do that in live conversations. My mind runs a million miles a minute and I have to get it all out. Anywho, make sure you dont let yourself down because as I always say, your kids depend on you. Focusing on relationships that YOU know won't work or isn't the best for you child......let it go!!! We all want the perfect family, house, car and kids.......remember, nothing is perfect, but strive for the best!!!

Fatherless Child......Sons or Daughters, it Hurts No Matter What!!

FatherlessChild

Searching........

Have you ever said to yourself, that you would never leave your child's side no matter the circumstances? Have you ever said, that you would always love and never miss a moment with your child? Well I say this all of the time, and stand firm with those words. I can't wrap my mind around a reason why a person would not want to be in their children's lives. They are a image of you, you help bring this child in the world, and they give you love like no other. Growing up, I seen my Father from time to time. I would never see or spend time with him on a daily basis. All I had to look to was my older brother, and that was not his responsibility to be my father. Reaching my teen years I would cry for him, and wonder why he never wanted to be around like the other dads I saw in my surroundings. I started to blame myself, and I started to blame my mother for not pushing him to do what he was suppose to do. At that time I just didn't get it, and I was growing angry and frustrated with it all. I wanted to have a father in my life so bad that I would go and look for one. Not actually searching, but when I came across a man that I liked I would smother them with my phone calls, visits, and just wanting them to be there and never leave. It was a struggle to understand that neither of those men that I thought I loved, or cared for could never be the father that I needed.

Moving On....

I know that there are more than a few things in life that you just have to walk away from. You can only do and say so much, and things aren't changing, then it is time to move on. I had to learn that the hard way with dealing with my father. I continued to believe that he would come around, and he didn't. I continued to believe that he would call, but he didn't. As much as I needed him to just be there, I had to move on. I'm not saying that I just completely ignored him, or acted as if he never existed. I simply put my feelings to the side and thought more with my mind rather than my heart.

We Need You....

I can assure any male, that all daughters need their fathers. I understand that men have special relationships with their sons, but your daughters need you too. They need a good father to look up to, so when she is in her adulthood she would know how to be treated. She needs you for advice, security, and just the love. A father who is there for the good and the bad. Her first break-up, her first job, and when walks down that aisle. Fathers also need to know that it isnt all about how much money you can spend, or what kind of car you buy for you daughter, but it is all about time being spent. Its about listening to her, and enjoying the conversations you and your daughter has. Get to know your daughter, because there will be times where she doesn't want to go to mom and she will look for you. You surely don't want her to find a father image in the streets. Be there, protect her, and love her and trust me she will love you back.

Why I Wrote This

I wrote this blog because I too wanted my father growing up. I had a short conversation with my father the other night and I usually write blogs to vent. This is why this blog is so short. I honestly feel like I can relate to a variety of people, and people would understand where I am coming from. I have been through quite a bit, single mother of three, and I too grew up fatherless. I'm praying that someone reads this, and could possibly feel better. I know it sounds bad, but just to know that you are not alone and you can move forward with the things that bother you. I always say, things happen for a reason, learn from it, and Move On. Try not to dwell on the past if it isn't positive, and work on making more positive memories for you to look back on.

Don't Be Discouraged

Being a young parent can throw all types of curve balls your way. So many things going on in your life, and it can become a bit overwhelming. Remember to not let negative comments get you down. Don't think that when your parents give you a lecture, it's just to get you upset or they think you don't know any better; it's actually because they care.
One thing that I have learned when I was a teen parent, is to keep my head up and continue on with my life. I try not to dwell on things because I have responsibilities and that includes the life I brought into this world. There were plenty times where I did become discouraged and was not sure about what to do, or who to talk too. I was so depressed when filling out applications, I was unsure of what college to attend, and I was just lost in a huge world where everyone has their own issues and mine was no where near important. Being discouraged, sad, and disappointed in myself led me to missing life. When I say life, I mean everything that was going on around me was just a blur. I could only think about, what went wrong in my life rather than thinking of all the positive that was going on and what positive things I could bring to the table. That is why I say, Don't Be Discouraged. I wasted so much time, that a few years after my first child went by and I hadn't finished school yet. I ended up getting my GED in 2007 which is 3 years after my son was born. I missed out on jobs, and even family time. All because I let the negative take over my life, and I would dwell on that.
I want to let teen parents know that you should always push forward and never look back. Make sure that no matter what goes on, you have to make sure that you set the right example for your children. Provide for them, be there for them, and show them all of the right things to do. Don't worry or even acknowledge what they negative people have to say, you just Don't Be Discouraged.
Personal Note:
Today was a tough day for me, and felt like I was going back to the way I was when I was just 18 getting ready for my first child. I came on here because it has been a while, plus I know that Im not the only one who feels this way sometimes. As I always say, if I can do it then so can anyone else. I don't condone teen pregnancy however I know that it can happen!!! Please dont ever be discouraged, life is short, and time waits on no one......Most importantly, your child(ren) need you no matter what the case may be.

Healthy Mothers Make A Happy Healthy Baby....

Mothers and Fathers, I can't stress the fact that we have to stay healthy not only for ourselves but for our kids. During pregnancy and after pregnancy it is very important that we take care ourselves because we have to be there for them. One more issue I want to talk about is learning how to do C.P.R if you have not done so already. I will get to that in just a few. Young parents, you have to know that the little bundle of joy will be soon a burst of energy and you have to keep up. I know your thinking that it can be a bit tiring when they are infants, but trust me....there is more!! By the time your little bundle of joy turns 10 months, they will be exploring the world with their little fingers and eyes. Everything is so big to them, and amazing all at the same time. You want to make sure that you get enough rest, and eat right so you will be able to keep up with them. I know your saying, "how can I get any rest with so much to do?" Well here is a little something I have learned over the years. Number one and most important, have a set schedule. Make sure that you have some type of routine that your child can grow accustomed to. Even if you are a stay at home parent, make a schedule anyway. Breakfast at a certain time, play time, nap time, lunch etc. Stick to the plan, otherwise you could have a baby who wants to play at 3 in the morning and you are struggling to get any sleep. Number two, when your baby is a infant there are going to be times where your baby wants to be fed in the middle of the night, and well, that is just how newborns do. However, I would always take naps when my baby took naps. I know that it seems to be difficult, but believe me it works. Finally number three, make sure you are eating healthy. Believe me, when you eat right, you feel great. All bad foods tends to slow you down and you feel like yo have no energy left in your body. I promise if you follow these steps, you should be fine.
On to some more important information for our young parents. Children can get into everything, and that is why we have to great parents and learn a few things that could possibly save our children from harm. Learning C.P.R is very important and everyone in the household should know how to do so. Sometimes you say to yourself, that things would never happen in your home but that isn't true. It could happen so it is best to be safe than sorry. I would advise all young parents, mothers and fathers to be to go and sign up for classes just to be safe. You can contact your local hospital, or red cross facilities to find out when classes are held. I truly hope that you guys take heed to what I have posted, because I have three and believe me, I may not be the best parent in the world, but I love my three and I have and will do anything for them.....Hope your enjoyed this and there will be more to come........

Young parents and the future......It's IMPORTANT!!!

Today I want discuss that our children's future is very important. What I also think is very important is that most young parents don't truly look at the overall picture. What I am saying is, what are your plans for your child(ren) even though you are a young parent? When you are young and you have a baby you think of what you are going to do today and tomorrow. However, children grow and one day soon to be an adult. They may want to go to college, or need help with a car purchase. So what will you do when that time comes? Of course you want your children to have the best and succeed in life. Okay, Ill get to the point that Im trying to make. Have you opened a savings account for your kids, or even thought about life insurance? Although they may be young now, but this is the time to start thinking of what you want to do to make sure that your child has some type of back up later on down the road. Savings accounts are most of the time free, or may have a minimum balance. Then there is life insurance, you can take out life insurance on yourself and make them the beneficiaries. You never know what may happen, and I think those are great ideas for you and your family. There are also college savings that you can save for now, which is easy if you are putting $20 or $30 in when you can. I say start NOW, dont prolong it. It is very important that you think of these things now because all types of things can come about, you just never know. I wrote this blog because of a special event that happened to me today. Long story short, I paid a visit to an aunt of mine who is now in a nursing home. Being there just made me think of what the future "could" be. Let's be honest people, even though we dont want to picture ourselves that way, but we all have to age. Moving on, I sat and talked with my aunt and she made me realize that I need to plan ahead for my children not just for the moment. When my Grandmother passed away, there was confusion and uncertainty and I believe that if my grandparents would have had some type of savings or life insurance, things may not have went that way. I plan to continue putting into my children's savings, get life insurance, and I want to also make a will later on down the road. I really encourage you young parents and pregnant teens, to think ahead. Not only will this help them down the road, but this could also show and teach our children to save and take responsibility.......SAVE for OUR CHILDREN.....

Love, Lust.......Pregnancy?

Love and lust are two feelings that we often mix up. Even as an adult it can be some confusing at times. When I was a teen I can say that I fell for lust, and I can admit that it did me no good. I would say that lust is something that most experience, especially in our teen years. We think we are in love, and we have found the person of our dreams. We can't be apart from them, and we fall asleep on the phone together. Well, isn't that sweet, and so cute??!! At that time it may be all those things, but we also sometimes tend to make poor choices. Having sex, or even unprotected sex which I think is the worse of them all. We not only need to think of having children at a young age, but there are many diseases that we need to be cautious of. So what is my best advice, WAIT!! I say wait until your in a marriage with someone who you know you truly love and that person loves you back. Every child deserves to be in a loving home with both parents, and stability. Im not saying that single mothers or single fathers can't raise their children the right way because there is a absent parent, but I know how it is to grow up in a single parent home, and I had times where I wanted to reach out to my father but couldn't. My main point to the young people, is to try not to fall for lust. Get your education, follow your dreams, and love will find you when it is time. Live your teenage years that best way that you can, and enjoy it because that part of life comes around only one time. Mistaking lust for love, could lead to much more than you asked for.

LIFE.......and a BABY

Whew, is something I did most of the time with my newborn. From the crying and changing diapers all the time, it became a bit of a struggle. With that being said, if there is a time where you feel like you are going to lose your mind and just can't deal with it all........take a breather. Take a moment for your self, and just clear your head. You know most times, being a teen you are always on your phones, on the computer, and out with friends. However, if there is a time where you can just be by yourself, I would take it. Take that time that you have for yourself, and run with it. I dont know how many times my mother would tell me to just chill for a second. Now that I have three, I totally understand what she was trying to tell me when I was little younger. I also want to point out to teens, that education is key. Make sure you come up with a plan to finish school and go back. There are so many ways to get education these days that here really isn't any excuse. I dropped out of school at a early age. After I had my second child I went back and got my G.E.D. I can admit, at first I was no where near proud to have a G.E.D. but as time went on, I knew that it was good and I was sooooo elated to have it because I got it on my own. Later on just recently, I went back to get my degree. I finished that in February of this year and I am proud to say that I walk across the stage in July. I will be going back soon to get my bachelors because is important. I want to remind teens that have a baby or children that you can get an education online, or even speak with your academic counselor about splitting the classes up to line up with your schedule. Point is, there are ways to get things done and you should never give up no matter what. Remember, your little one is watching, and you have to make sure you provide a great role model for them to follow.......I know I did.

From the young parents to the older parents

I was totally shocked to find out that I was going to have a baby at the age of 18. I did not know the first thing about having a baby. I had to go the doctor all the time, make sure I was taking my vitamins everyday, and make sure that the little person inside of me was treated great even though he wasn't here yet. The one thing that I was more terrified of more than giving birth, was telling my mother. I was not sure of how she was going to react, and if she would be disappointed in me. It took me a while to tell her, and it was just as I expected it. Her eyes filled up with tears and was in total shock. I cried because I knew that I truly disappointed my mother. Here is what I want to say to the parents of the young teens having children. We all do things that we may not be proud of, and sometimes some things may be a bit more serious than others. Take the time to be there for your children, ask questions and tell them about some of the things you did so that maybe they could learn from some of the mistakes that you made when you were younger. Im not saying that I agree with teen pregnancy, but at that time that teen needs love and support. They need a plan, to figure out what is best for them and that baby. They also have to figure out what they will do about school, and what they want their future to be. I also want to remind the older parents that I think that being super strict on your kids may not be a good idea, however I do believe in rules, boundaries, and letting your teen be a teen. Older parents have to remember that if you most likely continue to say no to everything they ask for, they will more than like go out and do it anyway. Not enough parents listen to their children at all. They ask questions and never listen. I think that is all a child wants is for their parents to listen and not be judged.......

Young Mothers and Teen Pregnancy: For the young people

Young people should know that there are different ways of showing love other than having sex. Write a letter, poem, give flowers, or go on a date. To show your love or feelings for someone does not mean you have to have sex. I think that young people get so caught up in the moment, and they get that feeling of being wanted, and then they make mistakes. Even adults get in that situation, but as teens your job is to be a teen. Go out and have fun with friends, enjoy life, go to school then college, and do some good in your life. I say this because having children when your a teenager can be difficult, but I must always say that it can be done but I don't condone it. You quickly have to become more responsible, you have to set aside some of the things that were most important to you, you have to take care of a child. Whether it be physically, mentally, or financially it has to be done. I also want to point out, that there is nothing wrong with talking about sex with your parents, parent, guardian, school nurse, or a responsible adult that you trust. Don't be afraid, ask questions, and listen. Trust me, history repeats itself, most of the questions you ask Im pretty sure that the adult you ask has had some of the same question when they were growing up. With all of that being said, I would love to see more young people living their lives, and being a bit more responsible. This is all coming from a young parent who has made mistakes, and learned from them. If I can reach a few of you before you decide to take it to the next level, stop and think about it before you do. One move can change your life. I KNOW......

More to come, next will be for the Mothers and Fathers of those Young Mothers and Pregnant Teens.....

Being a young mother, or being pregnant at a young age

Being a young mother can be difficult, but can be done. There are all sorts of different feelings, and changes we go through with this situation. First there is the reality of becoming a mother, then there are all of the other aspects that come to mind. Finishing school, how and if your ready for a baby, how can you take care of the baby, and what type of relationship you and the father have? Being a young mother of three at the age of 27 and had my first when I was 18, I am here to tell you that you can overcome all obstacles. I will not say that you should go out here and form pacts with your friends to get pregnant, what I am saying is that if this were to happen, you can get through this. There are all sorts of resources out here to help. Im not just talking about financial support, which is important, but Im saying support from therapist, schools, you name it. I know that there will come a time when you are alone with you and your baby and you think of everything that has happened. You break down and cry, and you just can't seem to get things together or down the right track. Well, seek help, find someone you trust to express your feelings. Trust me, talking with someone can be the best thing to do. For me, I would take the time out to write. Writing was and still is my stress reliever. I will end this first blog with this, Im young, I have three children, I have my degree in Healthcare Administration and my future for me and my children are bright. More to come.......
